Mayor James Coppinger is a lifelong resident of Hamilton County. He attended Hixson High School, Chattanooga State Community College and the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga. In 1977, Mayor Coppinger joined the Hamilton County Fire Department where 20 years later he became Fire Chief. In 2006, he became the County Commissioner for District Three in 2006 and was reelected in 2010.
Coppinger was appointed Hamilton County mayor in January 2011 after former Mayor Claude Ramsey left to join the administration of Gov. Bill Haslam, and was later elected mayor in a 2012 special election.
Mayor Coppinger is a champion for economic and community development, sound economic policies and great friend of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga

The Associates Council will be providing a spaghetti dinner which will include, salad, dessert and tea. All proceeds go to the scholarship fund. This is the biggest fundraiser of the year. Make sure to attend!
